Today, Jesus begins with the parable of the lost sheep where the shepherd has 100 sheep but one is missing. He searches diligently until the lost one is found. Then Jesus shares the parable of the woman’s lost coin, which was worth about a day’s wage. She searched tirelessly until she found it. In both cases, Jesus highlights the celebration that takes place when that which is lost is found.
