I think the kid in all of us anticipates the material gifts we give and receive at Christmas, but I also think that as we get older we recognize a deep and sometimes agonizing longing for way more than the commercialized shadow of Christmas

The more life we experience the deeper our longings stir for real, meaningful gifts that satisfy the deepest longings in our souls...longings that every human heart knows-regardless of race or color, male or female. Things like real peace, real life, real freedom, and real loving relationship. These are all born out of the One who is born at Christmas. So, this year I'm calling our Christmas series of messages: The Real Gifts of Christmas. And my prayer is that these messages will keep us anchored in the real meaning of Christmas and keep us in focused pursuit of the most lasting and life-changing implications of Christmas.
