Abiding in Christ

In John 15:1-11, Jesus uses a powerful image of the vine and branches to teach us about spiritual growth. At its core, the Christian life is not about striving harder but abiding deeper. Just as a branch cannot produce fruit by its own effort but only by remaining connected to the vine, we cannot manufacture spiritual fruit through willpower alone. Jesus invites us to remain in Him, promising that as we do, His joy will be in us and our joy will be complete. This means we stop exhausting ourselves trying to earn God's approval and instead learn to rest in our connection to Christ, allowing His life to flow through us naturally.
